DIVYA BHATIA

Divya Bhatia, based in Mumbai, is an independent artistic director, producer and performing arts consultant. He is Festival Director and Producer of Jodhpur RIFF, India’s leading roots music festival in Rajasthan. Now in its 18th year, Divya has been chiefly instrumental in its development as a successful platform for the traditional musicians of the region and as a platform for international roots musicians in India. Divya is the Director, Music Museum Projects at the Mehrangarh Museum Trust in Jodhpur.

A mentor and producer of the emerging Rajasthani folk group SAZ, he regularly produces, curates and promotes music and theatre in and from India, working with various artists, institutions, and festivals worldwide. Previously, Divya has directed numerous festivals, served on the jury of platforms such as the Adelaide Fringe Awards, Thespo Awards, WOMEX and the Aga Khan Music Awards and is a regular speaker/ presenter on Indian performing arts.

Educated in India, the United Kingdom and Canada, he has been a Hindustani classical tabla player and a film actor, including in the 2009 film Paa and the 2015 film Talvar (released internationally as Guilty).
