Alfredo Caxaj is an acknowledged and committed supporter of global music, artists and culture.
He is the co-artistic director of the non-profit Sunfest-London Committee for Cross Cultural Arts Inc., and, in 1995, founded Sunfest World Music & Jazz Summer Festival, a signature festival of global culture in Canada in the UNESCO city of Music, London, Ontario.
Since its inception in July 1995, SUNFEST has become “the most important global music festival in Canada” with an annual attendance of more than 120,000 unique visitors.
Alfredo has served as an advisor and juried member for various arts organizations at the municipal, provincial, and national levels, as well as for many international music markets and conferences.
Alfredo has received numerous awards and recognitions over the years, most recently, the most significant of all, THE ORDER OF CANADA, for his contributions to the arts and the promotion of cultural diversity. This is the highest recognition a Canadian citizen can receive from the Government of Canada.
